Today I didn't have to give the kids their English lessons as we went out to see the "Museo de Altamira", which includes a replica of the cave of Altamira (unfortunately no one is allowed in the actual cave anymore as it is falling apart).

Despite not being able to enter the real cave, we could see the main entrance from a distance:

While waiting for our allocated time for going into the cave replica, we went shopping, where I bought a few things for myself and my sisters, and then we went around the museum part, which gave us a lot of information. There were a few replicas of part of the cave too, so, although we weren't technically allowed to take pictures, that didn't stop us:

We then finally got to go into the cave replica which was really cool, and our guide was really nice and enthusiastic. After that, we drove into Santillana del Mar (one of the top 10 most beautiful villages in Spain) to get something to eat. We ended up finding a really pretty place to sit outside and eat.

After eating, we then explored a little more of Santillana del Mar were we did a bit of shopping.

On our way around the shops, we found a museum full of old fashioned torture methods and so decided to go have a look inside. They were all really horrible, and they made me feel slightly weird and very glad I did not live in those times. I knew about some of them before, but a lot were new to me, and I found this one particularly interesting:

This particular method of torture is where the victim has to enter the bull and then a fire is lit underneath and so the victim slowly gets burned. The interesting part is that from inside, the victims' screams sound like cattle.
We then headed back to the car, passing a few shops on the way, and headed home. Once we got home, Daniel, Alma and I hung out in my room playing various games until it was time to eat, after which I relaxed in my room until going to sleep.
Another fantastic day!
