The Magdalena Palace

As you should know from reading the welcome page of my blog, one of the things I really wanted to visit while in Santander was the Magdalena Palace, so imagine my excitement when my Au Pair family suggested we go visit it after breakfast. I was over the moon! Unfortunately, the weather hadn't improved much since yesterday, but that didn't stop us. We parked the car by the beach where we took a few photos and enjoyed the view.

Next was the walk to the palace. We walked through the grounds, passing replicas of boats and a replica of a submarine, and finally got to the palace. It was amazing! I was fascinated to find out from Rosa that this was where she and Andres got married.

When we got there, we got in the queue for guided tours (which happened every hour), and after 10 minutes of waiting, we were allowed in. The tour started off with an introduction to the palace, which explained its origins etc. Then, the tour began. We visited several rooms, including the very room in which Rosa and Andres got married. It was so impressive!

After the tour, we walked around the palace taking lots of pictures, and then walked back to the car.

Once we got home, we ordered pizzas and watched TV. The majority of the afternoon was spent in front of the TV, where I was introduced to the series "House". Then in the evening, I played basketball with Alma until it was time to eat. After eating, I helped Alma create her own blog (link on MY AU PAIR FAMILY page) and then we watched optical illusion videos on YouTube until it was time for bed.

Another amazing day!
